On Saturday we had plans to meet Grandma and Papa Ferg at Mt. St. Helens for a picnic and some sightseeing. We knew Caden would love it and it would allow us to celebrate Papa Ferg in person this Father's Day. Well the weather and this whole Juneary thing put a damper on those plans. We decided to still meet up in Kelso, WA since that is about half-way between McMinnville and Bonney Lake. Well what is there to do in Kelso, WA? Bowling, of course!
They actually have a pretty large bowling alley called Splits right off the freeway. It has bowling, mini golf, an arcade and like 3 restaurants. It was just renovated 2 months ago so it is really clean and nice inside. Caden LOVED bowling and Blake just wanted to take a nap :)
Caden got to use bumpers and the ramp! He had to make sure he had his #6 ball (a 6 pound ball)...and when he did well he usually performed a victory dance...similar to the one below. 
Bowling is a spectator sport and we enjoyed cheering each other on.
Blake enjoyed the snacks..."eat this!" 
And of course we couldn't forget it was Father's Day weekend so we made sure there were plenty of bonding moments.
Blake didn't sleep at all on the drive down to Kelso so he ended up missing his morning nap. He was so tired, but this kid won't sleep unless he is in his bed for the most part. Grandma tried to work her magic, but all he did was take a little quiet time.

Yes...that's right. Caden beat his mommy! Remember...he had bumpers and a ramp and I was having an off day. I was REALLY rusty.
We headed off to a large park in Longview called Lake Sacajewea Park to have our picnic. The rain was holding off and it was warm enough so we gave it a go. There was a duck pond and a park so Caden had a blast running around while we ate lunch.
I can't get over how old Caden is looking lately. He went through a growth spurt and needed new clothes and shoes. Now in photos I look at him and I see a boy...not my little boy anymore..but I will never get sick of looking into that sweet face.

There was a cute statue of a man playing catch with his dog! We thought it would be cute to put Blake on the dog...well he thought otherwise. At this point he was missing his afternoon nap too...makes for a cranky boy.
But Caden loved the dog!
But with Blake...two seconds later he can be happy as a clam! Especially when he is being held and loved and played with.
Before we left we wanted to take a Father's Day photo. Getting these four to smile at the camera proved to be impossible, but did allow for some hilarious photos.
Caden walked Sadie to the car...It was great to see you guys on Saturday. Your moving closer makes all of us very happy!
