A Visit from Grandma and Grandpa Ferg

With Grandma and Grandpa Ferg both being retired it means that they can make their way to our neck of the woods a little more often. It was great having them come up for a few days and spend time with Caden! He stayed home from daycare for a few days to go for walks and read books with them and Pat and I even got to go out for an evening!

Last weekend Pat and I went to my 10-year high school reunion at The Garage on Capitol Hill in Seattle. He was a great sport and I had a lot more fun that I expected reconnecting with some old classmates. This weekend Pat and I went to a bar in Renton to see a former classmate play drums in a really great band. It was nice to have a night-out with Pat, Grandpa Ferg and Pat's cousin Brian while Grandma Ferg stayed home with Caden...thanks for everything!

Toddler Gym

Caden and I go to a local gym, Roach Gymnastics, every Saturday morning from 9:45-10:30 for Toddler Gym. It has been a lot of fun watching Caden learn things like waiting his turn and sharing attention with other children, plus all of the fun hearing him say "I did it!" after every activity. He loves his two coaches and is constantly telling them to "watch me!" while they are trying to manage the 10-12 other toddlers around the room.

So far his favorite activities are the rope swing, the parachute, and the tunnel he can crawl through. This week Grandma Ferg got to come with us since she was visiting and we stopped for a "treat" at the "coffee store," or as we grown-ups call it -- starbucks, on our way home...I might add that to our little routine from now on :) because I love when Caden asks me "Mommy, you want coffee?"

Pat's Fourth Tattoo

Many of you are already aware that Pat went to get his fourth tattoo at the end of his summer vacation. This one was designed by one of his good friends Matt Hellner (http://www.hellnerarts.com/), as were 2 of his other 3, to honor our little guy Caden and one of Pat's first loves music. It is only coincidence that each letter of 'Cade' is a note on a musical scale.

Caden's 2-Year Check-Up

Yesterday we went to see the Doctor to check on Caden's progress. Everything is looking fantastic and she was very impressed with his physical and mental development. He also was a rockstar at the doctor's office yesterday...he completely behaved and followed most direction and he didn't even cry when he got his one shot.

Caden's Stats:

Weight - 30 lbs 3 oz.

Height - 35 inches

**He is in the 75th Percentile for everything...which makes him very proportioned :) and also gives us hope, that with this little growth spurt, he won't be too short and stocky.

Another Great Weekend...and boy are we tired!

Saturday's Ferguson Family Schedule:

9:45am - Toddler Gymnastics

11:00am - Caden's 2nd Birthday Party

3:30pm - Ava's 4th Birthday Party

We were running all over on Saturday and constantly surrounded by little kids :) It was such a great day and overall I think Caden had a blast!

It started out with our first class at Roach Gymnastic's in Sumner, WA. At first Caden was nervous but then he figured out that he could show-off for Coach Katie and Coach Rachel. He kept saying, "Coach, look at me!" and then yelling "I did it!" after everything that he attempted. It was pretty cute and a little funny to see how much he wanted them to watch him and like him! His favorite part was the parachute, especially going under it.

Then we headed to a beautiful park in Sumner, WA for Caden's 2nd Birthday. It was a great park that all the kids could climb all over, we had some hotdogs and cupcakes and Caden got to open a few presents. We want to thank all of you who came and made it such a special birthday for Caden. He loved having all of his friends and family there and he couldn't stop talking about it after we went home.

Finally, after a short nap, we headed to the Jumpy Place for our neighbor, Ava's, 4th Birthday party. Caden loved sliding down the gigantic, inflatable slide and playing fooseball. Thanks for the invite.

Gracie, Madison, Jacob, Caden, Gracie and Ava getting ready for some cupcakes. Caden's favorite part of his birthday was probably hearing everyone sing "Happy Birthday" to him. He sings right along, claps his hands and even says "Caden" at the proper time.

Caden decided that licking seemed the most appropriate way to eat his cupcake.

We weren't going to open presents there, but after some insistance by some of the kids we did a really quick version.

Once we got home Caden wanted to look at all of his new toys and I found him lining all of them up on the couch and sitting with the "guys"

"I Two" - Happy Birthday to our little guy!

We just can't believe that Caden turns two TODAY! It is amazing how much he has grown and developed and how time has just flown by. Everyday he surprises us, makes us laugh and makes us think. He truly is an amazing little boy who brings so much joy to our lives...and hopefully some of yours :)

This morning we woke him up by singing Happy Birthday...which he sang right along with us, smiling the entire time. He was saying "I Two!" as he left for daycare this morning with some funfetti cupcakes for his friends.
