"I Help"

So buying a house has meant many home improvement projects for the Ferguson's and Caden has decided he is a little Mr. Fix-It! While Grandma and Papa Ferg were in town to help us out Caden would carry around a screwdriver or a shovel and try to help out in whatever way possible. You would see him running to you saying "I help Grandma" or "I help Daddy".

Finally after all the work was done we all got some time to relax and play in the backyard! Caden has decided he now likes the camera and enjoys smiling and saying "cheese" as loud as he can. He will do something funny and tell me to take his photo...the sunglasses below is a great example!

First Jump!

A few weeks ago Pat was cleaning the pool for the first time and we decided to throw Caden in, wearing only his birthday suit! He LOVED it and now asks us about going in the pool almost everyday. He likes to say "come swimming" to people who visit us and I think he could swim 24 hours a day if we let him!

Finally Getting Settled!

We have lived in our new house for a little over a week now. Having Pat home for the Summer is making it easier to get unpacked and organized, but we still aren't feeling completely moved in. Plus we have some painting, cleaning and hanging to do to make the place truly feel like home. The one thing we do know is the we LOVE our new house and backyard. We look at each other constantly, surprised that the place is really ours and that we now have to keep this place up (don't even ask us how much weeding needs to be done!).

The commute hasn't been bad. It is only 5-10 minutes longer than before and I am officially going to start riding the bus on July 1. We are hoping to have some of you over very soon and with the weather looking to hit the high-80's this weekend hopefully we will get to break-in the pool!

Caden loves all the ants and bugs he can hunt down in the backyard. Above is what he looks like when he is trying to stomp on them.

We now have a Koi pond (if anyone knows how to work with one of these things let us know). Caden and Amber both like saying hi to the fish!

The backyard is one of our most favorite things about this house. It is slowly turning into "our" backyard. You can see the forest that borders the whole side of our house and the pool. We love the quiet and privacy that we have out here.

A Side Trip to The University of Oregon

We wanted to break-up our 8-hour drive from Klamath Falls to Federal Way so Grandma and Papa Peterson, Auntie Meagan and Pat, Caden and I decided to stop in Eugene so Pat could go to the Green and Gold Store. As a recruiter for University of Washington I was feeling a bit like a traitor, but it truly is a nice campus.

Caden loved the duckie feet that were all around the stadium he ran from foot to foot and jumped on each one. He also stopped and pretended to read them from time to time.

Choo Choo! Chug-It! Chug-It!

In Chiloquin, OR, a town right outside Klamath Falls, there is a group of train enthusiasts who have set-up the Train Mountain Railroad. These types of places are the little gems that can only be truly appreciated when you are with a child. Caden was ecstatic to ride a train, go under and over bridges and through tunnels. Hearing him say "Choo Choo! Chug-It (that is Chugga in Caden language)! Chug-It!" while moving his little fist up and down and constantly pointing and saying "look it!" was so much fun for the small group of us who made the trek out there. He is in love with trains, buses, trucks, cars, buses, tractors...basically any moving vehicle right now and this was like a dream come true for him!

Happy Retirement Grandma Ferg!

Well Grandpa Ferg planned a surprise retirement party for Grandma Ferg in Klamath Falls, OR last weekend. G'ma was completely surprised by all of the friends and family that showed up unannounced to view embarrasing photos, tell funny and sentimental stories, eat lots of chicken and potato salad, and dance and sing the night away!

One of the biggest surprises to us all was that our little Caden turned into a dancing machine as soon as the lights went down, the disco ball started spinning, and the music began playing. He shook his little booty in the center of the dance floor all alone (for the most part) for almost an hour. He would take little breaks for "water" and then head right back out to shake it! Finally he came up to me and he said "all done, night, night, mommy!" and he went straight to bed. Above you will see him joining the conga line and "swimming" on the dance floor...what a silly little guy.

Caden enjoying the cake! We turned around and he had climbed into that chair all by himself and started eating the "ice cream" (or frosting to the rest of us) right off the corner of the cake. So we had to give him his own plate.

If you remember back to the blog about Christmas in Klamath Falls than this box will look familiar. It was still at G'ma and G'pa's house for countless hours of enjoyment.

A little quiet time with Auntie Mandy. He doesn't sit still or stay quiet long so these are precious moments. Caden has really become quite a chatter box. We can hardly get him to take a breath sometimes.

Bonney Lake Residents.

The Ferguson Family is officially residents of Bonney Lake, WA (well really unincorporated Pierce County...but who's keeping track). We are going to miss the convenience and the wonderful parks and trails of our little home in Kent, WA, but we are really excited about the opportunity to have a big backyard and room to grow...and did I mention a pool. That means there will be some summer barbeques (if we ever get summer weather) at the The Ferguson's!

Busy! Busy! Busy!

With trying to sell our house at the same time as trying to purchase a new one I feel like we have really been busier than usual. Hopefully we will have official news soon as we have "sold" our house for the time being...I am trying to be cautiously optimistic until we have handed over our keys and have new keys in hand.

We have tried to enjoy the few wonderful and beautiful days that we have had recently by going to the zoo, hanging out in our backyard for a few barbeques and spending a little time with friends.

Caden loves animals and animal noises right now so we figured a trip to the zoo was in order. He was actually more afraid than excited by how close and big the animals were. His favorite part was feeding the goats. He could have stayed there all day!

We bought Caden a basketball hoop because he was shooting his basketballs at the walls...which was quite cute, but a little sad. He loves to "shoot", "dribble" and "rebound" and the hoop is great because we can bring it outside when it's nice.

It is funny to see what a boy he is turning out to be. Not only does he love anything that has to do with basketball, soccer and football. He also loves to dig in the dirt, sand and rocks for hours. Plus the more ants he can find the better. He likes to pick them up and then put them down to step on them :)

On Friday the annual Illahee Track Coaches Barbeque was held with okay weather, but much better company at the Eilertson's beautiful house. And again Caden made the most of Jake's big-boy toys like the drums and guitars, but he also discovered a love for the trampoline, much to his mother's horror (sometimes I am accused of being a bit over-protective...can you blame me, he is just too cute)! He also got to hang-out with Madision and Finnagan so it was just a great evening overall.

I'm A Big Kid Now!

We would describe Caden as very independent and stubborn. He has become one bossy fellow, but in a way that is still pretty cute. His favorite things to say are "right here" and "do it". He also doesn't have any sort of volume control and his favorite time to scream is when we are out in public...not out of anger, but just because. He also loves to say hi to every baby, doggie or birdie that we come across. Pat and I spend many nights talking about just how funny our little guy is and how much he loves putting on a show for everyone around.

Lately we have been letting him experience any of the "big boy" things that he wants. These moments are probably more for us, but we love seeing him learn or see something new and the excitement that shows across his face.

His new favorite place to go is to The Bouncy Place that is about 3 minutes from our house in Kent. It is just a huge room filled with inflatable bouncy toys...he runs around like he owns the place yelling "slide" and "bouncy". You can find us there pretty much any Saturday morning.

We also took him on his first carousel ride at the SuperMall and he really liked it. He wanted to ride the "zebra" but some other kid got to it first...I guess there is always next time :)

I know we are a little crazy, but we took Caden to Chuck E Cheese over Pat's Spring Break. He liked riding all of the machines and playing basketball with his dad. He even liked the singing Chuck E Cheese. He kept yelling "Hi Chuck E Cheese" and "I love you Chuck E Cheese". It was pretty cute!
