Get ready for lots of photos! I haven't done a blog post like this in awhile, but I thought it was about time.
For Pat's Spring Break we usually try to get away for a long weekend somewhere close by! This year Grandma Peterson and Papa G offered to take us to Long Beach, WA. We jumped at the chance to take the boys to the beach and spend some quality time with our family. When we arrived at Long Beach our rooms weren't quite ready, but the sun was bright and the boys were in need of some activity so we went straight to the beach! Both boys fell in love with the sand and the ocean so quickly. They were running, chasing birds and flirting with the waves. It is so great to know that our two boys would rather be outside than anywhere else.
We went back to check on our room and it still wasn't ready. Blake was headed for melt down (since he was long past nap time) so we got our kite out of the trunk and went back down to the beach. It was SUPER windy so our wimpy little kite didn't last long, but the boys enjoyed watching Daddy try to get it to stay in the air. Blake even got to fly it a few times and he wasn't swept away.
After some coloring in the sand we finally heard that our room was ready and we put Blake down for a short nap.
By dinner we were joined by Grandma and Papa and Auntie Meagan and Justin. We ordered some pizza, watched some basketball and Blake and Papa even got in an evening walk at sunset!
The next day wasn't supposed to rain, so we decided to get in as many outdoor activities as we could before the weather took a turn. Caden was all talk on the drive down about driving go-Karts and going horseback riding. We should've known that his scaredy cat side would win and once we got in line to pay he decided he didn't want to do any of those things. So instead Blake did everything...that kid had no fear!
Daddy and Blake took a ride on the Jr. track before Auntie Meagan schooled Pat, Justin and I on the regular Go-Kart trrack. I drive SLOW so I know I didn't have a chance, but she kicked those boys butts.
Then it was off for a pony ride. However none of the ponies were there, so Mommy had to ride the horse with Blake. I don't really like horses, but I really love my little guy, so I took one for the team. I am so glad I did. Blake giggled and smiled and talked to that horse the whole time. He didn't want to leave.
