Happy Birthday Pat!

Unfortunately as a couple with a newborn and a two year old at home we didn't celebrate Pat's birthday with much gusto last year and to be honest he ended up with no real presents to speak of. I felt like a failure, but I couldn't even think through my lack of sleep induced haze. Pat didn't blame me or make me fell bad about it, but I wanted him to know that I would make it up to him..so this year, I planned a whole weekend worth of celebration.
On Friday we dropped the kiddo's off with Grandm and Papa Peterson and headed to Seattle to take in a Mariner's vs. Red Sox game at Safeco Field with our friends Jen and Brian! We had great seats and a beautiful evening. We walked all over Seattle and settled into our hotel for the evening, because we had a busy day ahead.

On Saturday we woke up and had a big breakfast at Portage Bay Cafe (YUMMY!) with our friends Anne and Kyle. Then we headed to Seattle HeliTours for a helicopter tour of Seattle. We were a little nervous, but the pilot was so nice and the ride was amazingly smooth. It truly was amazing to see the sights of the city that we both know so well from that vantage point. We highly recommend it!

After that we headed to Enatai Beach in Bellevue for a 2 hour kayak tour (thanks mom and dad!). We saw a beautiful setting and enjoyed the amazing weather we were having that weekend. We also worked really hard!

We relaxed a little at the hotel and then headed for a really great meal at El Gaucho. We truly enjoyed our meal (thanks Mom and Dad and my cousin Brian) We spent one more night at our hotel and then we headed to pick up our boys!
I hope this weekend made up for last year!
