4th of July Weekend

The 4th of July Weekend was a beautiful one in Western Washington. We couldn't ask for better weather to enjoy our backyard and just take it easy at home. We spent A LOT of time in the pool, BBQing, and spending time as a family of three...things are about to change really soon :)

Caden was a little timid with the slip n' slide at first, but he ended up loving it. He loved having his friends, Ava, Gracie and Sam, over to play.

Caden LOVES the water. He constantly wants to go in the pool and swim. He is starting to get more and more confident around the water and it is fun to see him having so much fun. We know that we will get lots of use out of this pool over the years.

Dad and Caden relaxing. Nothing beats some father-son bonding time.

I think that I spent at least four hours by myself in our pool just floating and reading. It made me forget I was 9 months pregnant and was so relaxing. I had to get some me time in before our new baby boy Blake arrives.

The most interesting thing about the weekend is we found out Caden is terrified of fireworks. He hated them, they scared him and made him shake and he just held on to me as tight as possible. We were even going to let him stay up late and have s'mores and he declined...saying he just wanted to go to bed. Our little scaredy cat! Here is with Gracie before he realized that fireworks just weren't his thing.
