Memorial Day Weekend -- a Caden-centric affair.

We have been trying to spend lots of quality time with our little guy before we transition to a family of four. Memorial Day Weekend was no different :) Caden LOVES that the weather is getting nicer because it means he can spend every waking hour outside.

On Friday we spent 3-4 hours doing yardwork and prepping the backyard and the pool for summer. While Pat and I worked Caden played but after his nap we went down to our neighbors/friends house to have a little BBQ and some s'mores.

Caden trying to cook his own marshmallow. It didn't last long until it was burnt to a crisp.

Then on Sunday we got up and went to Point Defiance Zoo. Caden was so much more aware this time around of all of the animals. He got really excited by the elephants, polar bears and he loved the marine animals...the walruses, otters and the beluga whales. We also found out that he is a bird lover, but big fish with big eyes scare him a little bit.

Caden checking out the starfish in the Touch Tank, but as some of you know our child is a wee bit of a scaredy cat and he didn't really want to get to close.

On our way to the zoo he wanted me to take a photo of him with the sunglasses that Jake gave him as a hand me down. We just hope the Oakley's last!

On the final day of our three-day weekend we spent the afternoon having a picnic with The Bailey's at the Mud Mountain Dam in Enumclaw. Caden loved the freedom to run around the multiple parks and play in the wading pool. We had a lot of fun and will be heading back soon.

Caden playing with the "found" gameboy while Ava looks on. Don't worry we left it at the park after not being able to find the owner.

Caden LOVED the wading pool. It was hard to get him to come out.

After Caden's nap Grandma and Grandpa Peterson, Auntie Meagan and Uncle Joel came to our house for a BBQ. It was great to see the family and Caden loves to show-off for his adoring fans. My favorite Caden story of the night went a little something like this:

Mommy (in a joking fashion): "You are making me sad!"

Caden: "Mommy, I will cheer you up!"

Mommy: "Oh, thanks Caden"

Caden: "Go Braves! Go Braves! Go Braves!"

I love how literal 2 year olds are. He literally cheered me up with the "cheer" I have him do whenever we go watch Pat coach. It was very endearing!
